I'm so confused

On Wednesday, Toast and I are going to New York City where I will be testing for Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. I have to be at the testing site at 4:45 p.m. I have the day off from work and my initial plan was to go down rather early, spend some time gamboling merrily around Central Park, then grab a very early dinner and get to the test with plenty of time to spare. This would entail dressing comfortably for all the walking we'd be doing. However as I was just going through my Zagat for NYC, I found that Jean Georges offers a prix fixe lunch for only $28! Oh my Flying Spaghetti Monster, I could eat at Jean Fucking Georges for only $28! Unimaginable! I'm beside myself! Wow! Geez! Really, just wow!

Alright.

If I were to take advantage of this incredible special, I would have to dress at very least in business casual attire. That would mean no climbing rocks or frolicking in Central Park. I truly don't know what to do. I've never had a block of time during the day in NYC where I could spend some quality time with the Park. I've also never imagined that I'd be able to eat at Jean Georges. I don't know what to do. I'm a foodie and I lurve new restaurant experiences, but I also relish this opportunity to have fun in Central Park like I've never been able to before. Does anybody have any thoughts on this?

Hi, Tracy. nightshift here. Since my entire experience with NYC is seeing it from about 3,000 feet up as we flew over it, I'm probably the worst one to offer advice on this. However, since that's never stopped me before, I shan't let it stop me now.

I suggest going with the restaurant and forgoing the Central Park outing. It sounds as though you've been to Central Park at least, but never eaten at this particular restaurant. You would be choosing an entirely new experience over an expanded experience you've already had. Between the two choices, I personally would go with the entirely new one. Further, a good meal may help calm your nerves and quicken your mind for the show audition. Oh, and congrats on that! I have always wished I had the opportunity to try my hand on a game show, although "Jeopardy!" would be my choice.

Central Park isn't going anywhere, global warming-induced sea level rise excepted. The price of lunch might change, though. I'd do the lunch.

On the other hand, some physical activity might be just the thing to get your mental juices flowing. That said, I'd go with the restaurant as well, which is probably one reason I struggle with my weight.

I meant to comment about your test down below, but I forgot. That's very cool. We're wishing you luck.

Thank you all for your help! Jean Georges has unanimously won. Well, there you go. Yay! I'm going to Jean Georges! Yay!

Well, I'm late to the party and not dressed in "business casual" but I refuse to eat in a restaurant where I'm paying and they tell ME how to dress, but hey, it might be good food.

Still, I'd rather go to a place that doesn't have any issues with a hippie wearing cargo shorts.

I'm late, too, but I vote with the majority.

Good luck on your test. If you have any questions about musical theater or Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and you want to phone a friend, you can totally call me, it's one of my areas of expertise.

I tried out for that show, too. Didn't get it. Good luck!
